Bertil Lintner is always interesting and informative. I agree with his article. In particular, I agree with his opinion that the Junta is not about to fall.
We're heading out of the fighting season. Weather. And the Junta is drafting 5,000 additional soldiers a month. They may be fresh, but they won't always be. And the generals can probably buy weapons and ammo on credit, if need be.
Right now is probably the furthest advance that the NUG-related armies will make for the longest time. If NUG wants to win this, they should make the necessary treaties up front, so that they can truly coordinate matters. It's easier said than done, and it probably won't happen.
If I was NUG, I'd be visiting China right now, asking for help in holding real elections. They may not be the glitter boys of democracy, but the Chinese are the best at being realists.
