Bertil Lintner has a sobering analysis of Myanmar's warring parties. I agree with him that NUG and the ethnics have no chance of victory. But I think the military would eventually win, though it might take 20 years.
I don't have a solution for this, but I do have a path to a solution. De-emplasize violence, and seek one of the neighboring countries as a mentor for each side in the dispute. Currently the warring parties don't want to talk to each other. Mentor nations can step in as intermediaries, the adults in the room.
I would be curious of Mr. Lintner's thoughts of where the warring parties should go from here.
